We are a 3D Animation and Visualization studio based in West Michigan.
Started in October 2003 by Gordon Peterson. Peterson Design Studio evolved as the logical extension of an existing illustration and animation business at technical-animation.com; which Gordon established in 2001. Jennifer Peterson, a media designer, joined Gordon’s growing business in 2008. Together they have over 25 years of combined visual graphic and project management experience.

Gordon Peterson
Gordon Peterson is a 3D animator, technical illustrator and owner of Peterson Design Studio.
Gordon graduated from the United States Air Force technical school at Lowry Air Force Base. A graphic specialist in the United States Air Force for 5 years, he was stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea and Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia.
After the Air Force, Gordon worked at several West Michigan marketing companies eventually becoming a Senior Digital Artist for Adobe, Inc. Gordon’s work includes multiple technical 3D animations and technical illustrations for corporate clients including Herman Miller, ODL, and Stellar. Gordon also works with several area ad agencies to fullfill their 3D and illustrative needs.
Gordon was an adjunct instructor at Grand Valley State University teaching 3D Animation for 7 years.
Jennifer Peterson
Jennifer is a media designer. She graduated from Grand Valley State University with a B.S. in Film and Video with an emphasis on Animation. Jennifer has created and managed media projects for several West Michigan companies including Amway, American Seating, Meijer and Roche Pharmaceuticals.
A former SIGGRAPH volunteer, Jennifer currently serves as a board member and web designer for ASIFA Central, a non-profit animation organization.
Jennifer’s work has been honored with the SILVER AXIEM™ (Absolute eXellence In Electronic Media™) Award for Meijer’s “Grocery Door To Floor”.
Jennifer also taught as an adjunct instructor at Grand Valley State University teaching Animation II and History of Animation for 5 semesters.
Prior to working with Gordon at Peterson Design Studio, Jennifer spent 10 years as a media designer creating computer based training (CBT’s), corporate and non-profit websites and web based applications.
Jennifer is also a published needle arts designer and mom to two great kids!
Mike Prokopchuk
Mike Prokopchuk is a freelance developer and 3D animator and Modeler. Mike completed his college internship with Peterson Design Studio. Mike is a graduate of Grand Valley State University’s Film and Video Program.
Jon Augustyn
Jon Augustyn is a freelance animator and illustrator. Jon completed his college internship with Peterson Design Studio. Jon graduated from Grand Valley State University’s Film and Video Program. He spent 3 years in Korea teaching English.
